About Lonavala
Lonavala is the hill station between Mumbai and Pune, about 85 km from either city on the Mumbai–Pune Expressway, which puts most of our villas within two hours of both. It sits at 620 metres on the edge of the Sahyadri plateau, which is why it is a few degrees cooler than the cities in summer and why the monsoon arrives here with such force. Khandala, Bhushi Dam, the Tiger Point and Lion's Point viewpoints, and the Karla and Bhaja caves are all within half an hour of the villas.
Stayscape villas in Lonavala
With fourteen villas, Lonavala is our largest destination, and the choice runs from 3-bedroom homes for a family to the two largest private villas in the region.
For small groups, Honeycomb and the three Aquavista villas (A, B and C) are 3 BHK homes for six to twelve guests, each with its own pool; the Aquavista villas can be booked together as a 9-bedroom estate for up to thirty. Casa Santorini is a 4 BHK with Greek-island whites and a pool for eight to sixteen guests. The 5 BHK villas are Sage House, Gulmohar, Casa Tropica and Stone Water, each sleeping ten to twenty with a pool and lawn, and the natural choice for a two- or three-family weekend. Maison Bellevue and Woodhouse are 6 BHK villas for twelve to twenty guests, with views across the hills. At the top of the range, Bricstone House is an 11 BHK for up to thirty-two guests, and Evergreen Escape is an 11-bedroom estate with the largest private pool in Lonavala, hosting from twenty-four to seventy guests for weddings, milestone birthdays and company retreats.
When to visit Lonavala
The monsoon, June to September, is Lonavala's signature season: waterfalls on every hillside, mist over the ghats and Bhushi Dam in full flow. It is also the busiest, so book early. October to February brings clear skies, cool nights and the best viewpoint sunsets, and is the most comfortable for pool days. March to May is warm but still noticeably cooler than Mumbai, and weekday rates are at their lowest.
Things to do near the villas
Walk to Tiger Point or Lion's Point for the valley view at sunset, visit the 2,000-year-old Buddhist caves at Karla and Bhaja, picnic at Pawna Lake, or take the kids to Della Adventure Park and the wax museum. Chikki from the old Maganlal shop is the souvenir everyone carries back. The expressway makes a day trip to Pune or back to Mumbai easy, but most groups never leave the pool.
