Pure Veg Villas in Lonavala: The Perfect Retreat for Vegetarians
Finding a villa with a private pool in Lonavala is easy. Finding one where the kitchen has never cooked meat, where the cook understands a Jain thali, and where nobody in the next house is barbecuing chicken by the pool is not. That is the gap Aquavista fills. It is the pure veg villa in our Lonavala collection: nine bedrooms across three houses on one hillside, three private pools, and a vegetarian-only kitchen as a rule of the house rather than a request.
This guide covers what "pure veg" means at Aquavista, how the three houses work for different group sizes, what the food looks like, and what to do around the villa. If you already know you want it, the Aquavista villa page has dates and rates.
What pure veg means at Aquavista
Every Stayscape villa can cook vegetarian food on request. Aquavista is different: no non-vegetarian food is cooked, stored or brought into the property, by guests or by staff. The kitchens, the utensils and the staff are vegetarian-only, so a family that keeps a strict kitchen at home can stay without asking what a pan was last used for.
Jain meals are available on request. Tell us when you book and the cook prepares food without onion, garlic and root vegetables, and keeps the ingredients separate. For festivals and fasting days, the kitchen can follow the rules your family keeps; give us the dates and the restrictions in advance. The same rule applies to our other pure veg villas, so the page lists only homes where the kitchen is vegetarian throughout.
Three houses, three pools
Aquavista is three separate houses, A, B and C, on one landscaped plot above Lonavala, each a 3 BHK with its own private pool. Each house sleeps up to ten, so you can take one house for a family, two for two families who want their own front doors, or all three for a group of up to thirty with nine bedrooms and three pools between them. Booked together, the whole hillside is yours.
Each house has:
- Three air-conditioned bedrooms with attached bathrooms
- A living and dining room that opens to the pool deck
- A fully fitted vegetarian kitchen your group can also use
- A private pool with hill views, for that house only
- Wi-Fi, a smart TV and indoor games
- Parking inside the gate and a caretaker on site around the clock
The three houses are a few steps apart, so a big group spends the day together and goes back to three quiet houses at night. Grandparents get a ground-floor bedroom; teenagers get a pool of their own.
Meals
Home-cooked vegetarian meals are arranged at the villa at a per-person charge, from a simple breakfast of poha and chai to a full thali dinner. The cook shops locally, so the menu follows the season. Jain, Swaminarayan and other no-onion-no-garlic kitchens are catered for on request; tell us at the time of booking so the cook can plan and the right ingredients are stocked.
If your group prefers to cook, the kitchen is yours. Many families bring their own provisions for the first night and let the cook take over from breakfast.
Around the villa
Aquavista is on the Lonavala side of town, two to two and a half hours from both Mumbai and Pune by the Expressway. The usual Lonavala outings are all within twenty minutes:
- Bhushi Dam and Lonavala Lake in the monsoon
- Tiger's Leap and Lion's Point for the valley views, best at sunrise
- The Karla and Bhaja Buddhist caves, about twenty minutes away
- The Lonavala market for chikki and fudge to take home
- Rajmachi fort for a day-long trek in the cooler months
Most families, though, spend the day between the pools and the dining table, and that is what the villa is built for.
Who Aquavista suits
Joint families and groups of friends who keep a vegetarian kitchen, Jain families who have given up on finding a villa that takes their rules seriously, and anyone celebrating a birthday, anniversary or a festival weekend who wants three houses and three pools to themselves. Weekday rates are lower than weekends, and a 1+1 night offer runs on selected dates outside peak periods.
